Above:My Buck Rocky on the way home from Missouri. Just a baby boy, haha.
How I got the name:
As I am in 4-H(Polk county Iowa), and my parents aren't even close to being as bunny-obsessed as I am, I have to keep my bunnies in my garage. My garage is a large one, that also happens to be dusty.Therefor, I groom my bunnies constantly, because they get dust on themselves, haha.Just like any garage. Its not nearly dusty enough to cause a health harm to them, just enough to make them cute little dust bunnies.
What breed(s) I do:
I breed Flemish Giant rabbits! These are my absolute and compete favorite rabbit breed. Ive loved them since day 1, and have no plans to switch breeds. Ever. While their large size can make it hard to house multiple bunnies, they are by far the 'gentle giants' of the rabbit world, and make fabulous pets and amazing show animals.
About ME (As in...the person typing all this, haha):
My name is Emily Freel. I have raised a lot of breeds including mini lops, jersey woolies, and flemish giants.that doesnt seem like a lot, but mind you this was all within about 2 years, haha. I have always loved the flemish giant, however their size intimidated my parents, thus delaying my rabbitry. After 3 years of constant begging, I bought my first Flemish giant) the buck named Rocky) from Rocky Altic, of pleasant hope Missouri. As a junior this rabbit has already had a best in show, best fur, best in breed, best opposite, best commercial. and that was at his first 2 shows. This is by far a fine example of a flemish giant at it's best, and thank you Rocky for allowing me to own one of your fine animals. I am in 4H for Polk County, IA. I show my Quarter Horse, Obviously Ms. Flashy Bee, as well. Between the lagamorphs and the equine, I am a very busy and happy girl.
To breed wonderful rabbits and hopefully make a place for myself in the world of rabbit breeding and showing. To raise amazing show quality flemish giants while maintaining their characteristic size and temperment.
